In the beginning was Renato Carosone, who revived the Neapolitan melody by adding international sounds and irony to soften the melodrama. Then artists such as Di Capri, the Neapolitan Power, Daniele and Neri a metà, the Bennato brothers, the real songwriters and Vesuwave, posse music and cross-cultural collectives, the rappers and trappers of Scampia followed one another. Today Naples meets rock, rap, jazz, blues, trap, reggae, funky and especially herself.
